Judson Cake of Bar Harbor and Blowing Rock, N.C., won men’s race for the third time with a time of 2 hours, 24 minutes and 7.1 seconds. Michaela Thompson of Warwick, R.I., was the women’s champ in 2:57:48.8. Cake, 29, hoped to use Sugarloaf to qualify for November’s U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials in New York City, but a loss of running rhythm midway through the race kept him from achieving the 2:22 Olympic “B” qualifying standard and left him to be satisfied with a personal-best marathon time. The race started in Eustis.
