GERMANIA, GALLOWAY TWP., N.J. – John C. Ade Sr., 70, of Galloway Twp., N.J., and Turner, unexpectedly departed from this world on May 10, with family members by his side.
He was born the son of John and Mamie Ade on March 21, 1937, in Clarks Landing. He was raised in Egg Harbor City, where he attended school, graduating from Egg Harbor City High School in 1954.
In August 1957, he married the love of his life Sarah (Nell) Ade and they made their home(s) in Germania, Galloway Township. He worked for E.A. Filling for many years, later in life he was the Galloway Township code enforcement officer and construction official until his retirement in 2000.

He had a passion for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. He loved his time spent at his home in Turner, whether it was to visit his family, for a hunting trip, snowmobiling or in search of antiques, which he also loved to collect.
Because of his dual residency he developed longtime friendships with many people in Turner and surrounding communities; you may have seen him at the True Value 250, which he attended many times cheering for the family of (Rowe racers), or supporting his grandson(s) and their teammates at Turner athletics and later Leavitt Hornet sports events.
He would tell you that his family was his pride and joy and his most precious asset. He had an intense love and maintained an extremely close relationship with each and every one of them.
John is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sarah (Nell) Ade; son, John Ade Jr., and his wife, Patricia, children, John III and Kelly; daughter, Dawn Youland, and her husband, Kelvin and children, Kyle and Kolby, who were always close at heart and visited often as they reside in Turner; son, William Ade, and his companion, Pinky Izon, his son, William Jr. and his wife, Laura and the only great-grandchild, Mackenzie; son, David Ade, and his wife, Melinda, children, Savannah and David; daughter, Beth Henchy, and her husband, Bob, children, Bobby and Christian; his brothers, Thomas Ade, and his companion, Rose Liepe and Ronald Ade, and his wife, Christine; sisters-in-law, Mary Wenzel, and her husband, Raymond and Alida Walmsley, and her husband, Frank; brother-in-law, Louis Nell, and his wife, Linda; uncles, aunts, cousins; and many nephews, nieces and friends.
He was predeceased by parents, John and Mamie Ade; in-laws, Louis and Sarah Nell; and just recently on April 28, his grandson, Kevin Aaron Ade.
John was a wonderfully loving husband, father and friend. His departure leaves all with an emptiness that can never be filled. He will be missed more than words can begin to describe.
