Lewiston city officials seem to be looking for ways to spend money foolishly, and trying to make the area near The Public Theatre on Maple Street look better. So why not tear down that vacant brick eyesore at the corner of Park and Maple Street?
That building has been vacant for years and has served no constructive purpose for anyone. From what I can see, it is time for it to come down, or fix it up and get to its intended use.
And why is the city spending so much money on parking garages that will never get anything near their intended use?
I also feel that the city needs to reconstruct Lisbon Street from Pine Street to Main Street, and get rid of the granite stones that line both sides of that street. They cause a bottleneck for traffic, especially during rush hour. Get the street back to two lanes, as it was intended to be.
That would make more sense.
