RUMFORD – A Mass of Christian Burial for Francis D. Martel Sr., was celebrated Tuesday, May 22, at St. Athanasius-St. John Catholic Church. The Rev. Alfred Jacques was the celebrant. George Gionet was the altar server. Mark Belanger was the organist. Music selections were Wind Beneath My Wings, Amazing Grace, Old Rugged Cross, and Let There Be Peace On Earth. Readings were done by daughter-in-law, Lisa Martel and Paul Bernier. The eulogy was given his son, Robert Martel. Pallbearers were Francis D. Martel Jr., Robert A. Martel, Rick R. Martel, Roland E. Martel, Christopher Marien, Todd Glover and Chris Hebert. Interment was in St. John Cemetery. A reception followed at the Martel residence in Peru. Services were under the care of S.G. Thibault Funeral Home.
