SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Guy Henri Giboin died in Sacramento, Calif., on May 21, five days short of his 79th birthday anniversary.
He was born in Lewiston, on May 26, 1928, to George and Elisabeth Giboin. He was a graduate of Bates College in Lewiston and served in the U.S. Army in Japan during the American occupation after World War II.
Following his military duty, he served in engineering capacities in Palmdale, Calif., the Aerojet-General Corporation in Rancho Cordova, Calif., and McClellan Air Force Base in North Highlands, Calif. He retired from McClellan in 1988.
His father, George, served as organist at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Lewiston for more than 25 years.
He is survived by his wife, Mary (Burns), whom he married on April 5, 1968; foster son, David Cheney; sisters, Marcelle Irish and Georgette Tierney; and many nieces and nephews.
