RANGELEY – James “Jimmy” Walter Lightbody, 32, of Strong, died unexpectedly as the result of an accident while working in Rangeley on Wednesday, May 23.
He was born Jan. 12, 1975, in Norway, and was a 1993 graduate of Mt. Abram High School. Always known as a hard worker, he had an energetic, enthusiastic competitive spirit that helped him excel in his work. He held a Class B driver’s license and was proud of his accomplishments and goals that he had set for himself regarding certifications for Lucas Tree.
Jimmy was also a very outgoing, outspoken, compassionate man who enjoyed working with people with developmental disabilities. He was certified in CPR and first aid, was a fan of country and western music and enjoyed NASCAR; Jimmy Johnson was his favorite.
His family describes him as a man who loved life and taught others that life was to be enjoyed, not endured. The best word to describe him is “love.” He knew it, showed it, and lived it. Every conversation would conclude with an “I love you.”
He is survived by his parents, Michael and Rispah Huff of Strong; his future bride and wife, Christine “Tina” Brackley of Strong; a son, Eric Eaton of Kingfield; a daughter, Kathleen R. Lightbody of Westbrook; three sisters, Betty-Jo Taylor, and her husband, Jack, of Strong, Daphne Lightbody of Freeman and Betsy Barker, and her husband, Dylan, of Avon; four nephews, Michael Taylor, Travis Viles, Austin Warren and Dylan Warren; two nieces, Shelby and Megan Viles; a special friend and “sidekick,” Scotty Brown of Strong; a special friend, Tana Black of Rockland; a best friend and “second dad,” Mike Pond, “Sweet Cheeks” of Strong; and many dear friends.
