HOULTON (AP) -A fire that started in a room where repairs were being made may have touched off a fire that destroyed 19 rooms and heavily damaged nine others at the Shiretown Motor Inn, officials said. No one was injured in Thursday’s fire at the 52-room motel along U.S. Route 1. The motel was full at the time.

Fire officials said the fire may have started when a worker used a propane torch to repair a pipe.
