Lewiston – Leo Gaston Vadnais, 73, of Buckfield, died at St. Mary’s Hospital on May 22.

He was born in Nashua, N.H., Jan. 3, 1934, the son of Alfred and Anna (McLean) Vadnais. He was a veteran of the Korea War and was a member of the Buckfield American Legion. For many years he was a trainer and driver of harness horses before coming to Buckfield to retire due to his health. While in Buckfield, he worked for the town of Buckfield for over 20 years, most recently at the transfer station.

He is survived by his honey, Dolores Arnold of Buckfield; three brothers, Charles Greene, Arthur Vadnais and Armand Vadnais, all of Florida; one sister, Marilyn Coverdale of Montana; one niece, Kathleen Landers of Florida; and one nephew, Mike Vadnais of Florida.
