Auburn – Master Sgt. Scott Neil Wilson, born Jan. 28, 1963, lost his courageous battle with cancer on May 24.

His final wish was to be at home in Maine when he passed, so he, his wife and daughter transferred from Bethesda Naval Medical Center to Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice House with the combined assistance of Sen. Susan Collins’ office, the Air Force, Navy and Marines. He was the son of Harry and Beverly Wilson of Mechanic Falls.

He attended schools in Mechanic Falls and Auburn, graduating from Edward Little High School in 1981. He attained his associate degree from Hawaiian Pacific University. He served 25 years active duty in the Air Force beginning in April 1982, until the time of his death. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, traveling, playing sports, going to the gym and listening to the Beatles. He also enjoyed watching old movies (especially John Wayne), playing chess, Risk and cribbage.

He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Kanchana Wilson; his daughter, Rhiannon, age 12; his parents, Harry and Beverly Wilson; a brother, Ryan Wilson and his wife, Karen, of Auburn; a sister, Tracey Maberry and her husband, Michael, of Mechanic Falls; nephews, Ryan Wilson II of Auburn, Michael R. and Matthew Maberry, both of Mechanic Falls; niece, Brooke Wilson of Auburn, and her daughter Chloe, born May 23.

He was predeceased by a brother, Peter Scott Wilson in 1957.
