Field day
UNITY – The annual Small Farm Field Day will take place from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 2, at the Common Ground Education Center. The family event is sponsored and hosted by the Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association.
Small Farm Field Day features a variety of presentations, demonstrations and hands-on workshops designed for anyone curious about the tools and techniques of farming and homesteading in Maine.
This year will offer more than 20 presentations and workshops. A special half-day session will convert a small cultivating tractor to electric power. In addition, vendors will be on hand selling seedlings and garden tools. Participants are also encouraged to bring their unwanted but usable tools and equipment to sell or trade. Lunch will be available for purchase.
The Field Day is free and open to the public. For more information, contact the association at 568-4142 or visit www.mofga.org.
