BANGOR – Maine Preservation presented the 2007 statewide historic preservation honor awards at an evening ceremony on May 11 at Society Hall during the organization’s statewide conference. Awards were presented to honor projects and people exemplifying the best practices and principles of historic preservation.

Local awards were presented as follows:

Commercial: Supply Company Building, LP, Lewiston, for excellence in rehabilitation and restoration; Eric and Carrie Agren, Lewiston, for excellence in multiple use rehabilitation and restoration of Lyceum Hall

Civic: Auburn Public Library for excellence in preservation, restoration and compatible new addition design

Cultural Landscape Preservation: United Society of Shakers for cultural landscape preservation of Sabbathday Lake, New Gloucester and Poland.
