LEWISTON – Albert J. Dinardo, 79, of 10 Seville Place, Lewiston, died Friday, May 25, at Central Maine Medical Center.

He was born in Berlin, N.H., on Sept. 14, 1927, the son of Camille and Mary Corelli Dinardo. Educated in Berlin schools, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was stationed in Italy with the Army of occupation until 1947.

Upon his return to New Hampshire, he was employed by the James River Paper Co., and retired as a supervisor after 46 years. He was married to the former Lorraine Gagne on Feb. 12, 1949, at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary in Sabattus, and they made their home in Berlin, moving back to Lewiston in 2000.

A member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Parish, he was a life member of the VFW, Post 9459, and was a former member of the Jacques Cartier Club in Sabattus. While he was in Berlin, he was active in scouting, serving as a scoutmaster for 10 years, and in 1971, was the recipient of the St. George Emblem for Catholic Leaders in Scouting.

Survivors include his wife of Lewiston; two sons, Thomas, and wife, Sheila, of Dummer, N.H., and Gary, and wife, Deena, of Dover, N.H.; a daughter, Debra Thalheimer of Lewiston; a brother, Frank, and wife, Dorothy, of Berlin, N.H.; a sister, Viola Jensen of Berlin, N.H.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a brother, Dominic; two sisters, Louise Simonian and Mafalda Gemmiti; and an infant granddaughter, Katherine in 1979.
