LEWISTON – Catherine M. Glazier, 84, of Somerset Street in Rumford, passed away on Monday, May 28, at Central Maine Medical Center with her son at her side.

She was born in Rumford, on Nov. 25, 1922, a daughter of Joseph J. and Margaret A. (Arsenault) Perry. She was a graduate of St. John Parochial School and Stephens High School, Class of 1942.

She served as an election clerk and member of the board of registration for the town of Rumford.

She was a communicant of St. Athanasius-St. John Catholic Church and was an active member of St. Johns Guild.

Her passion was playing cards, and she was a member of St. Theresa’s Cribbage Club.

Surviving are a son, David L. Glazier of Gilford, N.H.; a daughter, Margaret Maddaus of Rumford; four sisters, Rita Lizotte of Rumford, Sister Ida Perry, SSC, of Marlborough, Mass., Julie Burns of Mexico and Lorraine Nadeau of Rumford; a brother, Auburn Perry of Sun City, Fla.; and four grandchildren, Travis Glazier, Erica Mooney, and husband, Chris, Caleb Maddaus and Jacob Maddaus.

She was predeceased by her husband, Oliver L. Glazier; a granddaughter, Kate Maddaus; and six brothers, John, William, Gerard, Philip, Armand and Alphee.
