CONCORD, N.H. (AP) – Officials say the 23-year-old woman who drowned in Crystal Lake in Gilmanton this weekend was attending an all-night University of New Hampshire graduation party at a private home.
Lauren M. Taylor of Concord was found about 75 feet from the shore on Sunday afternoon. The lake was about 9 feet deep. She was last seen alive Sunday between 4:30 a.m. and 5 a.m.
on the beach, sitting hear a campfire at the water’s edge by two young men who launched a canoe nearby.
Later in the day, Taylor’s friends realized she was missing and conducted a search of the area. Taylor’s clothing was located on the dock and authorities were notified. Police arrived about 1:30 p.m.
An autopsy was scheduled, but Fish and Game Department officials noted that water temperature were in the mid-50s – a dangerous level.
Taylor was attending an all-night University of New Hampshire graduation party at a private residence. She was not a student at UNH.
Taylor was formerly known as Lauren Marie Nicosia-Rusin of Hollis.
