LEWISTON – Patricia A. Jones, 81, a resident of Schooner Estates, Apt. 334, formerly of Pettengill Street, Lewiston, died Wednesday, May 30, at Russell Park Manor, after a short illness, with family by her side.

She was born in Lewiston, Aug. 3, 1925, the daughter of Treffle and Emily (Guay) Asselin. She was a graduate of St. Patrick’s grade school, a 1943 graduate of Lewiston High School and in 1946 graduated from St. Mary’s School of Nursing.

She began her nursing career as nurse at Bates Mill for 10 years. She then raised a family of six children with her husband, Harry, whom she married June 25, 1949. Pat was an accomplished gourmet cook and was an avid gardener. She loved to travel with her husband, but her most memorable times were spending the winters in their winter home in Hilton Head, S.C.

Besides her husband, Harry of Auburn; survivors include two sons, Mark S. Jones of Durham, N.C. and Peter W. Jones of Portsmouth, N.H.; two daughters, Nancy A. Marshall, and her husband, Peter, of Kennebunk and Susan M. Jones of Dorchester, Mass.; one son-in-law, Robert Hunt of Hilton Head, S.C.; and four grandchildren, Matthew and Benjamin Jones and Kate and Maxwell Marshall.

She was predeceased by two daughters, Kathleen Jones and Celeste Hunt.
