I found the picture of the teenage girl trapped under the vehicle on the front page of Friday’s Sun Journal to be over the top. This was neither responsible journalism nor necessary for the story.
In particular, it was insensitive to the driver, who was obviously in distress, and the teenage girl trapped under the automobile. This is not even a freedom of speech issue. This is a newspaper using sensationalism to sell the paper.
I am surprised editors didn’t save the picture and put it in the “b” section on Sunday.
I hope in the future editors show more kindness and responsibility in accident coverage.
