AUBURN – Daisy Bell Brown, 89, daughter of the late Herdman and Cora Ross, died peacefully at the Hospice House on Thursday, May 31, surrounded by her loving family.
She had briefly been at Russell Park Manor, but for seven years, and had resided at The Lamp Residential Care Facility in Lisbon. She had many loving friends there who loved her, and took very good care of her.
She was born in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada, in 1917, and would have turned 90 years old, next week on June 6.
She was family oriented in her earlier years of good health, and worked hard in the local shoe shops.
Traveling was delightful for her, and it didn’t matter how far. She enjoyed lots of nature, including gardening, loved the ocean and walking the beaches, and boating.
One of her God given gifts was drawing, and she spent many hours using that talent. She loved life, and had a strong character and didn’t give up easily.
She was a great cook!
One of her greatest joys came from being around animals, and especially cats. Where you would see her, you would also see cats.
She will be extremely missed, but her wonderful spirit will live on, for loved ones to cherish, and hang on to.
She is survived by two daughters, Joan Murphy, and husband, Dick, of Lewiston and Cory Robichaud, and husband, Robert, of Merritt Island, Fla.; four sons, Larry Brown, and wife, Ester, of Azle, Texas, Davis Brown of Florida, Roger Brown of Lewiston and his children, Hugh, Beverly, Jane and Gennie-Lynn and Louis Burgess and his children India, Brendan and Justin, of Lewiston; grandchildren include, Tina Lessard, and husband, Peter, of Lewiston, Mike Robichaud, and wife, Lisa, of Oxford, Terry Robichaud, and fiancé, Debra Knightly, of Lewiston and Todd Robichaud, of Florida; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her sister, Francis Thurlow, one year ago.
