I cannot believe any teacher would be upset with getting 5 or 6 days paid sick time, instead of 15 or 17.

They work about 1,500 hours per year and have all summer off, plus every possible holiday and all the school vacations throughout the year.

Why in the world do they need 15 or 17 days sick time?

In Lewiston, the budget needs $310,000 to meet the needs of substitute teachers.

This only proves that the entire educational system in Lewiston and Maine is out of whack, and it seems that our elected officials cannot get the handle on cutting back all of the wasted money that goes for education

For shame.
