Cara Gaumont, daughter of Rick Gaumont and Denise Pettingill of Lewiston, received a bachelor’s degree from Smith College, Northampton, Mass., on May 20. A 2003 graduate of Lewiston High School, Gaumont majored in the study of women and gender.

Her undergraduate activities included chairing the college’s rape awareness and education activist group on campus for two years. Gaumont will be take time out before she decides what she’ll do next.
