SOUTH PARIS – Clara Louise Belanger, 87, of Oxford, passed away Saturday evening at Market Square Health Care Center surrounded by her family.
She was born Jan. 17, 1920, the daughter of Willis and Clara Richardson Jackson in Barre, Mass.
She attended Oxford schools and was employed for many years at Robinson Manufacturing in Oxford.
She married Albert W. Belanger on Dec. 15, 1945. He died unexpectedly on Feb. 6, 1973.
She was a 50-year member of the American Legion Auxillary.
She will be greatly missed by Santa Comes to Oxford. Over the years she had knit several hundred pairs of mittens to donate to area children.
She also a member of the Oxford historical society, the Oxford Congregational Church, Oxford Extension and the Thompson Lake Senior Citizens.
She was an avid seamstress and cook. She also enjoyed crocheting, crafting and quilting. Her summers always included camping and lobsters.
Her survivors are too many to mention, but she will be remembered as a loving mother, nana and grammie to them all.
She was predeceased by her husband; and a daughter, Rosalie C. Jackson.
