LISBON – Principal Rick Green of Philip W. Sugg Middle School announced the third-quarter student achievement awards on May 17. The third of four awards for the year, this quarter both recipients were eighth-grade students. Green congratulated Danielle Bennett and Sam Goldsberry for their outstanding achievements.

Bennett is the daughter of Nancy and Ray Bennett of Lisbon. “Danielle has a positive attitude and works very hard. She is unfailingly polite and she tries her hardest at everything she does. She was a member of the yearbook staff this year and never missed a meeting,” said Green.

Goldsberry is the son of Judy and Jim Goldsberry of Lisbon Falls. “Sam has a positive attitude and a willingness and openness to trying new things. He is involved with sports and other activities in the community as well as being a junior volunteer at our schools,” said Green.

Students are nominated by teachers for overall academic standings and various areas of fellowship and accomplishments. The awards are sponsored by members of the Lisbon Rotary Club.
