LEWISTON – Maine Prep is expanding its business to include the greater Lewiston-Auburn area.

The Brunswick-based SAT prep company has also hired a Lewiston teacher to meet the demands of additional classes.

The Maine Prep course is designed to teach students strategies to use in the math, writing and reading sections of the SAT.

The Lewiston-Auburn classes will be held in the Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce offices at KeyBank Plaza, 415 Lisbon St.

The eight-week course begins at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, and will meet every Sunday from 7-9 p.m. until Sept. 30. The course will prepare students for the Oct. 6 SAT and the Oct. 17 PSAT tests.

The course will be taught by Susan Wong, the newest addition to the Maine Prep faculty. Wong is a native of Greenville and attended Bates College, where she earned a bachelor of arts degree in mathematics, and then earned Maine teacher certification through Bates and the University of New England. She taught math at Holy Cross School in Lewiston, where she also coached the math team.

She has also taught SAT prep classes at Lewiston High School and tutors students in mathematics.

Maine Prep also teaches SAT prep classes in Brunswick, Cape Elizabeth, Kents Hill and Portland.
