FORT KENT – More than 50 awards and scholarships were presented to University of Maine at Fort Kent students at the senior class banquet and awards convocation on May 11, in the UMFK Sports Center.

Area students receiving awards were:

Marcie Anna Jennie Cromwell of Poland, recipient of the Grindle Award, which is presented annually to a student who shows great promise in the area of social sciences.

E. Patrick E. Emery of Mechanic Falls, environmental studies award for his outstanding achievement and work in his major area of study.

Presidential Awards for Academic Excellence, awarded to students who have achieved the dean’s list for seven consecutive semesters at UMFK, were presented to E. Patrick E. Emery, Mechanic Falls; Justin M. Jipson, Mechanic Falls; and Traci Ann Weatherhead of Lewiston.
