WILTON – A Wilton teenager’s foot slipped while he walked across an all-terrain vehicle bridge Sunday and he became wedged in the bridge between the wooden planking, police Chief Dennis Brown said.

He was in pain. The teen’s girlfriend called 911, Brown said. The chief didn’t know the teen’s name but believed him to be 14 or 15.

The chief, along with Wilton firefighters and NorthStar Emergency Medical Service ambulance crews, responded to the bridge located south of Pleasant Street, off Temple Road, in East Wilton village.

It took police and firefighters about 10 minutes to remove some of the planks to extricate the boy from the bridge, Brown said.

The teen complained of knee pain and was taken to the hospital, he said.

“He was in good shape,” Brown said.
