ORLANDO, Fla. – Charles Joseph Hamel Sr., 63, of Orlando, Fla., died Sunday, May 13.

He was born in Chicoutimi, Quebec, Canada, on June 18, 1943, and grew up on the Goddard Road of Lewiston. He had resided in Orlando, Fla., since 1975.

Between 1975 and 1980 he and his family did many fun things in Florida.

He is survived by his four children, Coleen Rand, Christine Peak, Charles Hamel Jr. and Christopher Hamel; his mother, Alice Hamel of Lewiston; his father, Gustave Hamel of Montreal, Canada; four sisters, Joanne Hillwig, Claire Lemay, Sue Labbe and Cecile Martin; and a brother, Jean Claude Hamel.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Cathy Hamel; and a sister, Micheline Bussiere.
