LEWISTON – Dorothy E. Collins, 81, of Lewiston, died Sunday, June 3, at Central Maine Medical Center, after a brief illness.
She was born in Lewiston, the daughter of Joseph and Edith Richards Pelletier. Educated in local schools, she was married to John J. Collins in St. Patrick’s Church on June 21, 1947. He passed away on Sunday, April 8. She was a kind, gentle-hearted person, who was always there to help anyone who needed it.
She was a doting grandmother, and especially enjoyed her weekly lunch dates and trips to the mall with her granddaughter. She also enjoyed collecting owls and adored her two cats.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathryn Bolduc of Lewiston; a granddaughter, Amanda Bolduc of Portland; a grandson, Dustin Mailloux of Lewiston; several nieces and nephews; and her loving neighbors, Debbie and Roland Martin, whom she considered family.
Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Rosita (Rita) Pelletier.
