LIVERMORE FALLS – A Massachusetts man faces drug and alcohol charges after someone reported a vehicle driving erratically. Police found it at Cumberland Farms on Main Street and seized more than 3 ounces of marijuana, plus beer and hard liquor among other items.
Stephen Pickett, 18, of Arlington was arrested early Sunday on charges of misdemeanor operating under the influence of alcohol and drugs, and unlawful furnishing of scheduled drugs, and civil violations of illegal transportation of drugs and being a minor transporting liquor, police Chief Ernest N. Steward Jr. said Monday.
Steward said Pickett admitted to police that he was smoking marijuana.
Officers found a yellow-colored water bong used for smoking the drug on the passenger floor of the vehicle, Steward said.
There was also a container holding about one-half ounce of marijuana in the back seat, he said.
When police asked Pickett if there was anything in the trunk, Steward said, he reportedly told them “there was only more marijuana.”
Police confiscated two containers containing 2 ounces of marijuana in the trunk, he said.
Pickett was bailed from the police station on $1,000 unsecured bail and is scheduled to appear in 8th District Court at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, in Lewiston.
