The goals of the summer reading program are to motivate children to read, to enable children to maintain their reading skills during summer vacation, to provide summer programming for children.

Participants will keep track of the amount of time read again this year. Last year the library had 120 participants. Combined, the participants read for a total of 628 hours. The library hopes to exceed that record this year.

Programs throughout the summer will focus on a different mystery every week. Initial sign-up for the program will be held from 3 to 6:45 p.m. June 13; however; it is not necessary to attend the event in order to sign up for the summer reading program.
