Indoor yard sale

WATERFORD – The first summer indoor yard sale will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 16, in the Wilkins Community House basement, Plummer Hill Road.

Future yard sales will take place on the mornings of the community breakfasts on July 4, then Wednesdays, July 18, Aug. 1 and 15. New items will appear at each sale.

Proceeds from the sales will go to the building improvement fund. For more information or to donate goods, call Karen Fillebrown at 583-2320.

Picnic for seniors

FRYEBURG – The Oxford County Sheriff’s Office TRIAD Program will host its annual Senior Appreciation Day Picnic and is inviting all Oxford County senior citizens.

The event, to be held from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 29, at the Fryeburg Fairgrounds, is free. There will be popcorn, coffee, doughnuts, a picnic lunch, ice cream and cookies, door prizes and musical entertainment. There will also be a Chinese auction, a book and fudge sale and 50/50 tickets to help fund TRIAD projects.

Kidz cruise

NAPLES – The Resistance Ministries and His Place Teen Center will present the third annual “Noah’s Ark Kidz Cruise” at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 24, on the Songo River Queen II.

The cruise will start by having kids borrow a stuffed animal as Smiley the Clown marches them two by two onto “the Ark” to the song “Arky, Arky.”

Special guests will be magician and ventriloquist Dana and Friends and the “EMC(2) Puppet Ministry.”

Prizes will be awarded and there will be food and drink available for purchase. Tickets are $9 in advance and $12 at the gate.

There is a family rate of $8 each for three or more tickets and a group rate of $7.50 each for 10 or more.

Summer program

OXFORD – The Oxford and Otisfield historical societies have joined together to present a summer program at 7 p.m. Friday, June 29, at the Station Community Center, corner of Pleasant and King streets.

Martin Engstrom, a longtime weather forecaster, will present a slide show and recount his experiences spanning 38 years at the top of Mount Washington.
