LISBON FALLS – The Lisbon Falls Christian Academy was recently awarded second place overall at the Accelerated Christian Education Northeast Regional Student Convention in Schroon Lake, N.Y.

In addition, the school earned first-place honors in the Platform Events (drama) and third place in Exhibits Divisions (art and photography.)

More than 300 students from New York and New England competed in the areas of academics, music, platform, exhibits, and athletics.

Students were awarded individual medals for the first six places.

First-place awards: pen and ink, Megan Boucher; sketching, Derek Roberts; colored pencils, Megan Boucher; black and white scenic, Derek Roberts; black and white photo, plants and animals, Joshua Roberts; male quartet, Matthew DeGroft, Jordan Latouche, Robert Miles, Derek Roberts.

Also, musical composition, Alyssa Boucher; expressive reading, Alyssa Boucher; dramatic dialogue, Robert Miles, Derek Roberts; clown act, Joshua Roberts; scripture video, Megan Boucher, Robert Miles, Joshua Roberts, Derek Roberts, Alexandra Moulton; girls volleyball team.

Second-place awards: essay writing, Katelyn Hodgkins; black and white photo, character trait, Megan Boucher; color photo scenic, Joshua Roberts, piano solo, Alyssa Boucher; dramatic dialogue, Jordan Latouche, Joshua Roberts; large ensemble choir.

Third-place awards: sketching, Erin Costanzo; black and white photo, scenic, Jordan Latouche; black and white photo, plants and animals, Katelyn Hodgkins; girls’ 800-meter run, Megan Boucher; high jump, Robert Miles; running long jump, Robert Miles; discus, Joshua Roberts; preaching, age 16 and up, Matthew DeGroft; dramatic dialogue, Alyssa Boucher, Megan Boucher; boys’ basketball team.

Fourth-place awards: pen and ink, Robert Miles; colored pencils, Joshua Roberts; black and white photo, scenic, Joshua Roberts; color photo, character trait, Alexandra Moulton; boys’ 400-meter dash, Jordan Latouche; girls’ 400-meter dash, Rebecca Miles; female duet, Alyssa Bocher, Justine Burhoe; mixed trio, Justine Burhe, Drek Roberts, Alexadra Moulton; preaching, ages 16 and up, Robert Miles.

Fifth-place awards: poetry writing, Justine Burhoe; pen and ink, Derek Roberts; boys’ 800-meter run, Derek Roberts; male solo, Derek Roberts; expressive reading, Megan Boucher; radio program, Megan Boucher, Rebecca Miles, Robert Miles, Joshua Roberts, Derek Roberts.

Sixth-place awards: color photo, character trait, Katelyn Hodgkins; boys’ 200-meter dash, Robert Riggs; boys’ unlimited free style, Patrick Veilleux; dramatic dialogue, Samantha Maheux, Robert Riggs, Samantha Coffin.
