RUMFORD – Rodney L. “Punky” White, 43, died Thursday, June 7, in Rumford. He was a resident of Cumberland Street in Rumford.

He was born in Rumford, on Aug. 4, 1963, a son of Robert and Leona (Hodgkins) White Sr. He attended Mexico schools.

He worked for Ernie and John Robichaud as a carpenter for many years and was a jack-of-all-trades. He was known as the “Mayor of Cumberland Street,” keeping everything in check with all the passersby.

Survivors include his mother, Leona White of Rumford; five brothers, Robert White Jr., and his wife, Kim, of Mexico, Ronald White of Rumford, Rex White of Rumford, Roger White, and his wife, Karen, of Rumford and Russell White, and his wife, Amanda, of Mexico; three sisters, Birdie Rocray, and her husband, Michael, of Rumford, Becky McDonald, and her husband, Kevin, of Rumford and Rose Libby, and her husband, Rob, of Rumford; a daughter, Jessica Wood of New York; stepdaughters, Angelyn Adams of Wilton, Golda Beaupre of Texas, Michelle Frost of Dixfield and Christina Roberts of Alfred; grandchildren, Lily, Hailey, Donavan, Destiny, MacKenzie, Jenna, Charles, Sean Michael, Amber and Patrick; and many nieces and nephews.
