SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – Ernest Eugene Poulin, 86, passed away June 4 in Santa Cruz, Calif.

He was a native of Lewiston. Later, he lived in Hartford, Conn., Milwaukee, Wis., and Berlin, N.H. He moved to California in 1996, and lived in Aptos.

He served his country in the Army and was awarded the Victory medal, the American Theater Ribbon, one service stripe and a Good Conduct medal. He also volunteered for the 82nd Airborne Division. He was the owner of an auto body shop and also worked as a car salesman and a truck driver.

He is survived by his daughter, Jacquelyn Frances Poulin; grandchildren, Christine Schoffstall, Barbara Solomon, Michael, Richard and William Poulin; and great-grandchildren, Nicole Solomon and Arron Solomon.

He was predeceased by his wife, Frances Barbara Poulin in 1978; and his son, Arnold Poulin. Arrangements are under the direction of Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel, 1050 Cayuga St. in Santa Cruz.
