FRYEBURG – Stephen F. Gould, 59, of Maple Street, Fryeburg, passed away with love all around him with his very extended family by his side at his home on June 7.

He was born July 8, 1947, to Fred and Marilyn (Sis) Kiesman Gould. He was educated in the Fryeburg schools and graduated from Fryeburg Academy. He was employed as a cutting room foreman for the Northland Shoe Co. for 31 years. After the shoe company closed, he was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a mailman.

He was a member of the Pythagorean Lodge of Masons in Fryeburg. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.

He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Kristine Hall Gould; two daughters, Angela and David Smith of North Fryeburg and Sue and Dana Richardson of Fryeburg; a son, Brad, and his wife, Kathy, of Fryeburg; he also played the role of father figure in the lives of John O’Rourke, Joshua King and Matt “Tote” Baker; one brother, David, and his wife, Heidi, of Fryeburg; a sister, Patricia, and her husband, Louis Bove, of Portland and Fryeburg Harbor; and eight grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his mother and father; and a nephew, Wade.

He was the true meaning of a loving, caring person. His smile was always sincere and would brighten even the darkest day for all who knew him.
