DOVER, N.H. (AP) – No criminal charges will be filed against a former Junior ROTC instructor who sent inappropriate messages to a 15-year-old student at Dover High School, police said.

Dennis Amon, 52, lost his certification as a Junior ROTC instructor last month after the mother of a cadet reported he had left inappropriate voice messages on her daughter’s cell phone. Amon was also accused of sending inappropriate e-mails.

But police said that after investigating, they found no evidence of a physical relationship.

Amon is a retired naval officer who lives in Lee.
