THOMASTON – Danielle Frye allowed one hit while striking out nine, and the offense pounded out 15 hits as second-ranked Georges Valley cruised past Jay 12-0 in Western Class C softball semifinals Saturday.

Second-ranked Georges Valley scored the only run it would need in the first inning on an RBI single by Liz Hall, which scored Desiree Smith. After adding a pair of runs in the second and a single run in the third, the Buccaneers put the game away on Ashley Geel’s grand slam over the center-field fence. Geel finished the game with five RBI.

Smith and Hall each had three hits to pace Georges Valley (15-2). Daydra Loon took the loss for Jay (10-7).
