WALES – Voters elected 11 officers Saturday, including Carol Ivey as a new selectman. Ivey succeeds Brian Severy, who was chosen for the Board of Appeals.

Robert English was re-elected to the school board and Mark Andrews to the Board of Appeals.

Chosen for the Planning Board were incumbents Alice DiPaolo and Lyndon Spaulding, and newcomer Scott Latulippe.

Budget Committee members elected newcomers Patti Auge and Melaney Newton-Burgess, and alternate Wendy Bourgoin. Melodie Dionne-Klick was re-elected.

Voters also passed an article appropriating $360,514.56 in additional local funds, exceeding the state’s Essential Programs and Services model by $287,269.37.

Town Clerk Donna Simoneau reported the tax rate will be about $30.75, or $5.75 more than last year. That means, a home assessed at $100,000 will be taxed an estimated $3,075.95, or $575.95 more than this year.
