LISBON – Two Lisbon teenagers escaped serious injury Saturday evening when their car rolled over several times and then struck a truck parked on private property along Route 9.

Lisbon police officer Jason St. Pierre said the combined damage to both vehicles came to approximately $19,000.

According St. Pierre, the 16-year-old driver, whose name was not released, was traveling north on Route 9 when his car veered onto the shoulder. He then overcorrected and lost control of the vehicle and it rolled several times before striking the truck. St. Pierre said the teens were wearing their seatbelts.

Both the driver and passenger, a 15-year-old, complained of pain and were taken to a hospital.

The 2006 Saturn Ion II, registered to Amanda Russell of Lisbon Falls, was a total loss at $14,000. The parked truck, a 1994 GMC Sierra that was for sale, was also a total loss at $5,000. It is owned by Mason Lavers.

The accident remained under investigation late Saturday, St. Pierre said.
