AUBURN – Armand C. Miller, 92, formerly of the Auburn Townhouse building, passed away early Friday morning, June 8, at Clover Manor with family by his side.

He was born in Lewiston on June 6, 1915, a son of Morris and Sadie (Fuller) Miller.

He was educated in local schools, graduated from Edward Little High School in 1933, and remained a lifelong resident of this community.

On Sept. 5, 1937, he married the former Edith Hartford, who predeceased him in April of 2005.

Armand worked many years in local shoe manufacturing shops as a purchasing agent until his retirement.

After retirement, he enjoyed working at Wal-Mart as a greeter.

He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, as well as traveling with his two daughters.

When able, he attended the First United Pentecostal Church in Lewiston.

He was a member of the Kora Temple Shriners and the Tranquil Masonic Lodge. He was also a drummer for many, many years with the Highlanders Drum and Bagpipe unit within the Shrine.

He leaves behind two daughters, Faye Searles and Russell E. Neal Jr. of Wales, and Jean Raymond and Normand of Auburn; seven grandchildren, Kelley Bisson, Bruce Eells, Norma Mollica, Susan Hatch, Ted Searles, Russell Neal III and David Searles; 21 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.

He was predeceased by a sister, Alice White, in 2006.

His family would like to acknowledge and thank Dr. Darlene Miller and the staff at Clover Manor for the care, love and friendship that was given to him as well as to the family.

A very special thank you to his grandson, Bruce Eells, who took care of him while he was a resident of the Auburn Townhouse, and also at Clover Manor. The family also wishes to thank their cousin, Peter Sullivan, for the days and nights that he spent with them at Dad’s bedside.

Armand will be sadly missed by his loving family and friends.
