FARMINGTON – Prior to the Planning Board’s public hearing on Rite Aid Monday, early morning breakfasters at the Farmington Diner were asked how they felt about losing their gathering spot, and if they would like to see the diner moved to become a museum.
John Frary: “We can find seats for breakfast elsewhere but you can’t duplicate the social atmosphere (of the diner). It’s an established social center to meet and discuss many issues.”
Charles Webster: “I’ve heard they’re going to move it and someone else is going to take it over and run it.”
Rodney Stanley: “There’s lots of rumors. I think everyone will be surprised.”
Roger Laperle: “I’ve heard they’re going to try to salvage and reuse it. There aren’t many of these (diners) left.”
Richard Chabot: “I’d like to keep it here.”
