BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Rev. Kenneth F. Connor Jr., 78, of Weston Avenue, died Tuesday, June 12, at Buffalo General Hospital.

He was born Oct. 23, 1928, in Worcester, Mass., the son of Kenneth F. and Merle R. (Rattlesdorfer) Connor Sr. He was raised in Worcester and Holden, Mass., graduating from Holden High School in 1948.

After 10 years as a sign painter and contractor, he entered Clark University in Worcester, graduating with an associate degree in 1962. He entered the Episcopal Theological Seminary of Lexington, Ky., graduating with a master of divinity degree in 1965.

He served parishes in Michigan, Maine, Ohio and Central New York. He came to the Episcopal Diocese of Western New York in November 1985, as rector of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church on Rainbow Blvd., Niagara Falls. He served the parish until February 1992, at which time his retirement years found him serving several parishes as an interim rector.

He was a priest associate of the Society of St. John the Evangelist and served on several diocesan commissions and committees.

He was married to Harriet P. Matthews on Nov. 5, 1949, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Worcester, Mass.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, David James Connor of Amesbury, Mass. and Mark Richard Connor of Salem, Mass.; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
