JAY – Nancy J. Durrell, 64, of Jay, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 11, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born, May 10, 1943, in Rangeley, a daughter of Ervin and Bella (St. Cyr) Wilbur. She graduated from Rangeley schools.

On, Oct. 7, 1961 she married, Robert Durrell Sr. in Stratton. In March 1964, they moved to Jay to work and raise their family.

After leaving G.H. Bass in Wilton, she worked at Forster Mfg., Hannaford and most recently as the manager of Movie Gallery in Jay.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and making many clothes for family and friends including various dresses and wedding gowns. Her greatest pleasure in life was time spent with her family especially her grandchildren and swimming in Rangeley Lake.

She was also a devoted member of the Jay Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Robert “Bob” Durrell Sr. of Jay; children, Robert “Bob” Durrell Jr., and his wife, Donna, of Livermore, Gene Durrell, and his wife, Tracy, of Farmington, Sheri McPherson, and her fiancé, Frank Donald Jr., of New Sharon and James “Jim” Durrell of Tampa, Fla.; grandchildren, Tom, Mike and Annika Durrell, Mandie and Karina Durrell, Brittany Durrell, Garrett and Kali McPherson, Felicia and Sara Durrell.

She was predeceased by a son, Curt Durrell; and two brothers, Jerry LaPierre and Bill Wilbur.
