Criminal Mischief
A rock thrown through vehicle window overnight June 10 – June 11 at 24 Wood St.
Overnight June 10 – June 11, suspect broke some patio chairs at 66 Rideout Ave.
A vehicle was damaged in the lot prior to 8 p.m. on June 9 at the Colisee.
Sometime over the weekend, graffiti was painted on the windows and stairs of the 4th floor of the Southern Gateway parking garage.
A window shot with a BB prior to 9 p.m. on June 11 at 128 Oxford St.
Thefts
A Grey 18 speed Mongoose Bicycle was stolen from outside of 316 East Ave. that was locked up to the porch. This occurred between 3 a.m. – 2:20 p.m. on June 10.
A green Next 26″ mountain bike was stolen from the yard of 111 Prospect Ave. between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. on June 10. Another bike was abandoned in its place.
A black Redline freestyle bike with chrome rims was stolen on June 8 from Walnut St.
A silver BMX bike was stolen from the skate park between 4 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on June 10.
A white pink and purple 20″ Mountain Bike was stolen from 47 Pierce St. between 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on June 10.
A truck parked at LA Tent and Awning was burglarized between 06/07 – 06/11. $150 in cash and 50 carabiners were stolen.
Burglaries
The snack shack at the Elliot Ave Little League field was burglarized overnight June 11-12. Forced entry was made by prying away a piece of plywood. Packages of candy and soda were stolen
A garage at 38 Hillview Lane was rummaged through, with no property taken, overnight June 11-12.
Sometime overnight June 9-10, Governor’s restaurant was burglarized by breaking a window in a door. Cash was stolen from both cash registers.
Sometime between 8 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. June 9, someone entered an apartment at 174 Blake St. via a screen window from the fire escape and stole an Xbox and money.
Bike Rodeo
There will be a bike rodeo held at the Colisee on Saturday June 16 between 9 and noon.
The event was set up by Brian Mckeown as his Eagle Scout community project. Lewiston Police will be assisting in any way possible. Any parents with children are encouraged to attend and teach your kids about bike safety and run through the obstacle course.
Craft / Yard Sale
The Lewiston Downtown Community Action Group is holding a craft fair / yard sale on June 30 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Multi. Tables are $20, for more information contact Jessica Golder at 783-4305.
Registered Sex Offenders
Phillip Witham (32) is a registered sex offender who was convicted of Gross Sexual Misconduct in 1987. He is on probation and is residing at 103 College St.
Roland Belanger (53) is a registered sex offender who was convicted of Unlawful Sexual Contact in 1995 against a juvenile. He is not on probation and has no conditions
Floyd Bonyun (28) was convicted of Unlawful Sexual Contact in 2003 against a juvenile. He is on probation
Dennis Meachum (40) was convicted of 2nd degree Criminal Sexual Contact in Michigan against an adult. He is not on probation and has no conditions
Operating After Suspension Arrests
Robert Hamilton (29) was arrested for Operating after Habitual Offender Status on June 9 at 1:50 a.m. at Campus Ave./Wood St. The vehicle was stopped after he failed to dim his headlights to oncoming traffic.
Holly Weikel (22) was arrested for Operating after Suspension on June 11 at 6:49 a.m. at 805 Lisbon St. The vehicle was stopped for speeding.
Roosevelt Spearman (41) was arrested for Operating After Suspension and Violation of Bail Conditions on June 11 at 7:59 p.m. at the South Bridge. The vehicle was stopped after an officer observed a 10 foot long piece of string dragging on the road from the trunk of the car.
Operating Under the Influence Arrests
Justin Barefield (28) was arrested for Operating After Suspension, Operating Under the Influence and Violating Conditions of Release on June 10 at 12:37 a.m. in front of Espo’s on Main St. Officers responded for a reported car vs. telephone pole accident, upon arrival the operator was visibly intoxicated. He was also out on bail conditions to commit no further criminal acts.
Thomas London (34) was arrested Operating Under the Influence and Leaving the Scene of an Accident on June 11 at 8:24 p.m. at Jefferson St. / Barron Ave.. Officers responded to the area for a report of erratic operation made by a citizen. Prior to officers arriving, the suspect crashed into a parked car, then continued driving in an erratic manner and nearly caused several more accidents before being stopped. The operator was 3 times the legal limit in BAC.
