AUBURN – The Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute will sponsor a free men’s health screening from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, at CVS on Union Street. The screening will include a cholesterol test and blood pressure check. Participants will be limited to the first 12 registrants. To register, call 795-8241.

Distribution day

AUBURN – Auburn AC SERVE, a part of SERVE New England’s food and volunteer program, will have its Distribution Day from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 23, at the Auburn Advent Christian Church, Whitney Street entrance. Registrations for July also will be taken.

Kids’ meals

AUBURN – Paula Rouillard, food service director with the Auburn School Department, has announced Auburn will hold a summer food service program this year. Those interested should sign up by phoning her at 753-0122 by Friday, June 22. The program is for 5- to 18-year-olds and no meals will be served July 4. Meal sites are Park Avenue School, Walton School, Sherwood Heights and Pettengill Park, and meals must be eaten on site. Breakfast will be served between 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. and lunch between 11:30 a.m. and noon.

Gospel meetings

LEWISTON – The Rev. Douglas Taylor, ministry director of the urban youth outreach, The Jesus Party, and ordained minister with the North American Ministerial Association, will hold old-fashioned open air gospel meetings at the gazebo in Kennedy Park at 6 p.m. Thursdays, June 21 and 28. Taylor said the messages will deal with end time events such as the increase of wars, famines, earthquakes and false prophets.

Special music by the Taylor family and testimonies will be shared throughout the evening. Those attending should bring a lawn chair.

Church event

HEBRON – Hebron Community Baptist Church invites area children from kindergarten through sixth grade to “Raise the Reef Praises” from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, Monday and Tuesday, June 22, 25 and 26. In addition to lessons from the Bible, the program will include music, crafts, games and refreshments.
