RANGELEY – Police will work with two young boys and their parents after the 5- and 7-year-olds entered the Little Mountain School without permission.

The boys went to the refrigerator, ate some pizza and threw some of it on the floor, police Chief Phil Weymouth said.

They also tipped over the Legos and threw plastic toys and other things around inside and outside on the playground, the chief said.

The preschool child care center uses a building owned by the Congregational Church on Pleasant Street.

The boys live within walking distance of the school, and one attends it and knew where a key was hidden to gain entrance, Weymouth said. The incident took place sometime Saturday or Sunday afternoon.

People were upset, and the children’s parents have been very cooperative, Weymouth said.

They’re embarrassed about it, he said.

“We’re going to work out things for the kids to do,” he said, and parents will be responsible to pay for any damage, but it’s most likely just cleanup.

The incident was reported Monday, he said, and he believed the boys had already been back to do some cleanup.
