HARRISON – Daniel Schorr won a decisive victory over two other candidates for a seat on the Board of Selectmen in Tuesday’s annual election.

Schorr garnered 142 votes; Keith Smith 97 and Heather Rizzo 72. Scott Andrews and Sheila Smith each received one write-in vote.

Selectman Susan Searles-Gazza opted not to run for re-election.

In the race for two seats on the Planning Board, incumbent Barry Smith won overwhelmingly with 266 votes. Write-in candidates Darren Dyer got the second spot with six votes; Write-in candidates Averill Davis, Alan Reid and Doug Wall got two votes each.

Incumbent Jonathan Whitney won a five-year seat on the Board of Appeals with 293 votes. Keith Smith received one write-in vote.

Incumbent R. Andrew Derstine won the one open seat on the SAD 17 board with 295 votes. Thomas Mclain Jr. received three write-in votes.

Voters also passed all nine SAD 17 budget articles.

The budget passed in the districtwide vote.
