POLAND – Poland Spring Academy, located on 100 acres off Bailey Hill Road, is offering four summer programs for different ages from Monday through Thursday during July and August.
Disney Play Camp is for youngsters ages 4 to 7. It offers five weeks of different themes, including Winnie the Pooh, July 9; Land Before Time, July 16; Disney Animals, July 23; Mickey Mouse and Friends, July 30; and Disney Royalty. Aug. 6. Kids can dress up like their favorite character, do art projects and go for outdoor adventures to explore the depths of their imaginations. The cost is $150 a session. Wilderness Survival Camp is an intense overnight camp at the academy for young people who think they can survive the Maine wilderness with no modern tools. They will build their own shelters, cook food over campfires, fish, hike and learn teamwork through coordinated activities.
The weeks will be separated into boys only ages 8 to 12, July 16 or July 23; girls only ages 8 to 12, July 30; boys only teens, July 9; and girls only teens, Aug. 6. The cost is $300 a session.
An equestrian day camp is for ages 8 to 12 and includes hands-on learning and trail riding. Participants will learn about the characteristics of horses, how to care for a horse and basic riding skills. Equestrian Camp will be offered July 9, July 16 and July 23. The cost is $300 a session. Creativity Camp will be offered for the creative youngster, ages 8 to 12. During the week children will explore art, music, drama, photography, writing and dance and let their imaginations soar while they are immersed in planning a theatrical performance, capturing the perfect moment through a lens and painting works of art.
