FARMINGTON – Blanche Joyce Liberty, 76, passed away on Thursday, June 14, at Sandy River Nursing Home, where she had been a resident for three-and-a-half years. She had previously resided on Lavoie Street in Jay.
She was born on Jan. 23, 1931, in Livermore Falls, the daughter of Frank and Thelma (Pratt) Liberty. She was a graduate of Livermore Falls High School, Class of 1950.
After graduation she moved to Wakefield, Mass., where she worked for New England Telephone and Telegraph Co. as an operator for many years. She later transferred to the telephone company on Ash Street in Lewiston, retiring after several years due to ill health.
She is survived by a sister, Thurla Labbe, and her husband, Rene, of Jay; a brother, Phillip Liberty, and his wife, Karen, of Livermore Falls; and nieces and nephews.
The family extends its’ gratitude to the staff at Sandy River Nursing Home, Dr. Paul Wooden and a special thank-you to Pam for her concern and kindness.
