BATH – Saxophonist Thom Keith and bassist Tim Webb will pair up for a mini-concert Thursday, June 21, as part of a performance series put on by The Maine Jazz Alliance in partnership with the Chocolate Church Arts Center.

Keith was born in Rochester, N.H., and grew up in a home filled with the sounds of Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Coltrane, Walt Dickerson, Air, and David Murray, courtesy of a musical family. At age 11, he took up the alto saxophone, later switching to tenor, and still later, baritone. He can be heard as the host of the Maine Public Broadcasting Network’s radio program “Prime Cuts.”

Webb earned a bachelor’s degree in music performance from the University of New Hampshire and has numerous performance credits, including sharing the stage with Eddie Gale and with Dick Griffin. He co-founded the ensemble Equal Time as well as the company Avant Coast (www.avantcoast.com) in 2006, and founded Northeast Jazz Scene (www.nejazzscene.com) in 2005.

Admission is $5. The arts center is at 798 Washington St. Tickets may be purchased in advance by calling the Chocolate Church at 442-8455. For more information, call the Maine Jazz Alliance at 373-0306.
