HARTFORD, Conn. – Marilyn K. Burnell, 65, of South Windsor, Conn., and formerly of Turner, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 14, at Hartford Hospital.
She was born in Harrington, on May 4, 1942, a daughter of the late Neal and Marjorie (Lawrence) Kennedy. She was raised in Maine, and moved to Southern California for 15 years before returning to the Lewiston area in 1978.
She worked in accounting and payroll and most recently had worked for Combined Management Inc. in Lewiston. In her spare time, she enjoyed photographing Maine landscapes, nature scenes, especially blooming lily pads, flowers and butterflies.
She was the founder of the Lewiston-Auburn Camera Club in 1985, and also served as the club’s president and treasurer. She also enjoyed the annual balloon festivals in Lewiston.
She leaves a son, Stephen Coit; a daughter, Diane Riddle, and her husband, Scott, of South Windsor, Conn.; a brother, Lawrence Kennedy, and his wife, Gloria, of Harrington; a sister, Mary Judd, of Buckfield; two nephews, Patrick Kennedy of Hancock and Michael Judd, and his wife, Jennifer Peila-Judd, of Sumner; and two nieces, Laticia K. Durham of Virginia, and Cynthia Fournier, and her husband, Robert, of Leeds.
She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Coit; and a beloved aunt, Judith Huckins.
