AUGUSTA – Norma E. West, 82, of Oxford, died Friday evening, June 15, at the Gray Birch Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Norway on May 18, 1925, the daughter of Scott and Mildred French Poole. She graduated from Norway High School and Bliss Business College.

Norma worked many years as a customer service representative at the David Klain Agency in Norway.

She was a member of the Oxford Congregational Church, and was organist and choir director for several years. She was a member of Church Women United of the UCC Conference and in her younger years served on the SAD 17 school board.

She was married to Joseph West, who died in June 1991.

Norma is survived by her daughter, Joanne West Winchenbach and her husband, Gary, of Gardiner; two grandchildren, Adam and Jaime Winchenbach; three nephews; and several cousins.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Isobel and Margaret.
